The IWC supports projects that help disadvantaged women who are at risk of abandoning their babies.

Mother and Baby Center- Stara Zagora

The Center provides shelter, care, and psychological support for mothers in difficulty. Through offering the mothers and their newborn babies a safe and supportive environment, the center helps the mothers make and keep the bond with their child. The IWC pays the salary of the social worker who assists the mothers daily.

World Without Borders

This Roma NGO, based in the largest Roma residential area in Stara Zagora, has been working with ARK on a range of issues related to the prevention of abandonment, including provision of family information about and supporting access to planning services, organizing community discussions with high-risk groups, and raising awareness about the importance of raising children within families. The IWC supports World Without Borders’ family planning program.

Rojdestovo Hristovo Social Day Care Center

It is a day center in Sofia that provides moral and material support for single mothers. The mothers can apply their talents in the handicraft workshops for ceramics souvenirs and textile dolls, an activity that helps them overcome their isolation and have an income from the selling of their products at various shops in Sofia. The IWC supports the Center with clothing and baby care products.
